These rides probably had as much to do with me having a hot rod even as much as Milner's coupe. I'd had old cars since high school. Mostly just stockers because I never felt I could do what needed to be done to make 'em cooler. Then I got into motorbikes for several years and didn't even have an old stocker. Well, about the time Krupa and I were getting back into the car thing and looking for rides, out comes Hot Rod Deluxe. As soon as I saw Jimmy Whites coupe and Skinny Jeffs truck, it was on! It's kinda weird, in that I don't know all the details on either. I haven't studied them, or even seen the truck in person. But they were big influences in me getting a hot rod. Now one of my goals is to dust that HEMI on the track.... HaHa, I don't even have any pictures of Jeff's truck that I can upload. Somebody email me a picture so I can put it on here. buzzard@kontinentals.com
Good choices. Since I am carless in a few days, I'm liking just about everything out there. Right now it has to be these two.....I am learning more and more about 35-37 Chevys and the more I learn, the more I want. I also have a thing for early to mid Lincoln's....
37 Buick Shafer 8, owned by one of the Cokers of Coker tire. mmmm, hopped-up straight 8... 62 Corvair Monza wagon. I'm jonesing for this one.
Kustom55, we musta been cut from the same cloth cuz I can't get enough of those lincolns either! That one in the pic was at the HAMB BBQ I think. It was beautiful! FONZI
I would have to go with the Shine-O-Matic.....might be a little partial to that car. Buzzard post a pic would ya, my job moved and all my pics are lost. I dig Tman's Touring. Farmall
how bout two cars I "found" that I like...i couldn't get better pics cause the doors on one end were nailed shut but the blue/green thing is why I couldn't get a better front end shot...
My taste usually changes daily, but having just come back from the Drags... I'll narrow it down to the 2 cars at the drags that I would like to have in my garage today..... Will's truck and Speedaddicts Chevy... hc
I hear ya.....they are just awesome they have to perfect grill/bumpers and tailights. No need for a major custom on them, especially the 54/55 Lincolns....I think I know what Ill be looking to buy
Firt time contribution to the 2-cars deal. Both of these are South Dakota cars. I dont really like Tuxedo Blue that much . It just works on certain cars. I think myT and this A would look just as good if not better in black?
Very few people succeed in building a modern "Quentessential" car. 50 Fraud's 36 is the quentessential 36 to me. I can't think of anything that I coule do to improve what's in this picture. And this is just a really cool 30/31 on duece rails that I'm using as inspiration lately.
Im kinda partial to 49-54 chevys but these two are some of my fav customs ever built in recent years. I aspire to have my car this nice
lately it's been these 2. I like my old 59 Elky more now that I don't have it anymore. This is the shot of the new owner takin' it away after the mobtown greaseball show. And this 51 chevy has some killer mods on it.
. And this is just a really cool 30/31 on duece rails that I'm using as inspiration lately. [/QUOTE] That A is sweet !!!!
ahhh that picture of the ol deuce gets me every time. miss that car a lot! thats ok though, my next deuce that hits the road will be pretty neat.
Axle, that car is already on my list for next week. I love that car and drool over it every time it comes to Austin. You nailed the feel right on. Can't wait to see your next one.
Yes it is...he was selected as a GG Hot Rod of the Year finalist in Texas, and I got to talk to him about it. It kicks ass. He said he wanted to build his "last car", one with everything that he ever thought was cool about hot rods."The perfect Hot Rod" as he put it... Super nice guy.
Mine for the week... 1. A five window, gee...why would I like that five window? Great copper color, great build, from Texas, looks good next to that ugly gold one with the way too high roof 2. Just plain cool and crazy!!! Really different and well constructed.
