Projects 1954 Ford without a Ford

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Jalopy Joker, May 29, 2013.

  1. I dont know about belly button engines? I llike FE,s and small block ford & chevies. Never had any success or good luck with the Y block. Just my Opinion I didnt think much of Y block fords or chevy W engines back in the day. And still think they make good boat anchors. there was a guy had a 50 ford coup with a souped up chev 283 that was very fast. It was rumored he had a balance & blueprinted engine built by the Don Garlits speed shop and it was bored & stroked to 352 cu in? I once owned a 54 ford victoria HTP. it had a Y block probably a 56 292 with the teapot holley carb. We Never even tried to see if it would run. the rear end was tore up and when I picked it up with the wrecker there where rusty holes in the floor boards. as I was pulling it down the Hwy ouite a few rattle snakes started falling out on the road:eek:! so I didnt bring it all the way home. I left it at some property We owned across the river. That winter I sold it to Innness Auto Salvage. I think He still has the car. He stated He has seen some rattle snakes at his place since that time. He never had then before. and we still have some over at the place where I left the car for a few months. Little pigmy rattlers:). I caught one it is now on display at the Lake Charles state park Nature center!

"do mild custom/hot rod driver. have to find plenty of parts, like side trim."

Okay, heres what I don't get. You fill in the side trim holes and then say your looking for the trim...? If you are building a mild custom, why would you remove the side trim and not nose and deck it....?

U-235 - the previous owner filled in side trim holes with bondo. maybe he never found trim. I sure have not found any yet. would prefer to run trim, rather than welding holes.

I did get back at you but life got in the way and I couldn't figure out how to send pictures. I didn't care about price. Whatever you would of offered I would of taken.
I do dig your ford, it sucks you are selling it.
