Attached is a picture of a fitting on the RHS of the sump on a Chev 350. it looks like it has an electrical plug in it but in my car is not connected. Anyone know what this is for?It is weeping oil and if the full unit is not needed I may replace it with just a plug?Maybe it is connected to something in the sump?
I think that is right.Checked with my auto electrician and he said oil warning light(which I don't have or need). I have a separate connection for an oil pressure gauge.
is that a ls1? (Gen 3) If so I will have a look at mine tonight. What's the motor from? or is it a crate engine? Cheers Gene
I had a look at mine just now. I don't even have a place for a plug like that. It won't be a knock sensor, they are under the intake. The reluktor wheel sensor is up higher behind the starter so its not that, my guess is it's some sort of oil level sensor. I hope this helps. What's this engine in now?
My car has that and although it isn't a Chevy (Cadillac) it is a low oil warning sensor. Not a bad feature to have, but you can just not use it if you want. Don
