What's your favourite dash to use in a custom or hotrod?

So I've tried searching, maybe I'm typing the wrong words in?? I'm sure I saw a great thread on here with guys who have cut, sectioned or otherwise used dash boards from other cars in their hotrods or customs, just can't seem to find it....or what I'm looking for. So forgive me if it's been posted before but.......what's your favourite dash to use in a hot rod or custom? Don't be shy with pics if you have any. I am sure some will say the dash the original car came with but that's not what I'm looking for. I'm more looking for the unique cut, chopped, sectioned or whatever normally doesn't belong but is made to look like it should. Cheers.

1929 Briggs Body Model A with a 'common' '32 dash and an uncommon '28 Chrysler instrument panel.

Just a nice clean look and not a bellybutton row of 5 or 6 round face gauges

For later cars you can't beat the Studebaker Hawk dash and it comes with eight Stewart-Warner gauges.

Not common...in fact I've never seen it used before. But I saved one from a '51 Buick Roadmaster parts car I had years ago, and the matching pieces from the doors. I like this particular dash because of the layout with the speedometer in its own pod, along with the other three sunken round gauges, the huge chrome center section with the grill, the knobs and the duel ashtrays, (marked "ASHTRAY"...lol) but more importantly how they swept the ends of the dash into the doors. That's why I also had to save the removable door pieces. I'm not so sure it'd be appropriate in a late '20s or early '30s hot rod, but I'm thinkin' it'd look great in a late '30s or '40s car.

Now that is sweet:cool: I agree on it looking great in a later 30's/40's car. Thanks for sharing

I've got a 56 Chev dash I'm saving for my next 30 - 31 coupe... Looks like with the end turn-outs removed it'll be a perfect fit.

Anyone done this? I'd like to see pix.

Im putting a 55 desoto dash in my 50 chevy truck (sorry no pics I only have the top section of the dash in right now). I kept the chevy dash to put in my 29 durant 3window coupe. Be creative, there are many options out there.

I have a friend that only uses 56' Olds dashes in every car he has built in the past 25 years.

For most cars I prefer the stock dash with gauge upgrades. A 50's dash in a 30's car does not turn me on.

49 Merc. I like them swapped into 50 51 Mercs and some other builds. I think you can really get off base using a dash from the wrong era say a 60 chevy dash in a 48 ford.

I like the Zepher center section. I was looking for one for a bit. I did find someone was making a fiberglass repo but could connect.
