Model A trans seperation issue HELP

    Okay so have the engine out of my model a ch***is and the trans has all the bolts out and is dis connected almost completely, I have the collar off and it is being supported by an engine hoist and I cannot get the trans separated from the torque tube... am I missing something any suggesstions... I sprayed it down today with wd-40... still had no luck
     
  2. Is it an early 28 with the multi disc clutch?

    no its a 1930 I have the engine and trans seperated I just can seperate the ****** in the ch***is from the torque tube

    The u joint must be stuck . The pedals come with trans don't they?

    Has to be the u jount stuck. Yes pedals come out with trans.

    Also, check that the trans is not stuck in the frame adding to your problem. I have read where you actually need to spread the frame just a smidge to get the rear mounts to go between the ears on the frame. I'm ***uming the bell housing if still on the trans. I read this in one of the Model A restoration books I had. If this isn't the case, look for any little gap you can find back there and start spraying the hell out of it for a couple of days.

    yeah the trans is being supported by a cherry picker because the only thing its attached to is the torque tube
