I've debated starting a build thread for awhile but never thought I was far enough. So here we go. I have been in to hot rods my whole life. They always stood out to me. Everyone had their own personality. It wasn't the same 69 camaro you have already seen 200 times. So I decided I wanted to build a hot rod I've been working since I was 12 and had some cash saved up. I helped out at my grandparents auto parts store and when I was delivering parts down the street I found this model a coupe. It was 60s hot rod and I fell in love.

My plans were basic. Brakes drive shaft shifter radiator DONE.

Well that didn't happen. After I started reading I realized that lots of stuff was done wrong on the car. The frame wasn't boxed. The body was welded to the frame. All patch panels were braced in. So I slowly started to take the car about. Then I built the car up to this point where I could get it on the road.

Then I realized that my skills developed and I could do a lot of thinks better. So I scraped the frame and started over. I bought a tic perimeter frame. Added a dagle x member with a few of my own touches. Built some bitchin motor mounts and made some axle clearances. The car will have a full four link with coil overs. I cut the while back of the frame off and still need to get my rails formed but I'm waiting to get my body back together to do that.

Now I should let you guys know this is going to be a full 60s drag car build.

Heres a shot with the body mocked up.
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1369671968.436217.jpg

Then I got bored and painted the motor to see how the colors would work

Picked up some vintage headman corvette headers
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1369672170.855568.jpg

Then it got real I found an Isky snout cover and upper pulley on ebay and debated on buying it not knowing if I could find the other pieces.

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1369672285.168422.jpg

    Well I did

    Isky rear cover

Then blasted the blower got my intake and everything else

I couldn't be happier with the blower. The x1 was badass but the blower just makes the car look bad. I know I left a lot out but will update from here Enjoy.

Started working on the pluming. I got a weiand remote thermostat housing off eBay for 20 bucks. As for the lines I wanted them to stay period correct I was thinking about doing hard line or something fancy. I knew an lines wouldn't fit the period. So this is what I came up with.

    I took some pipe fittings
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1369799176.602005.jpg

Welded them together and smoothed them out ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1369799200.418688.jpg

This is what they will look like on the car. I will post more pictures after I drill the heads and get the rest of what I need.

After machining the lip off the blower I wanted to do something I feel like no one really does and that is re shaping the fins to match the other side
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1370121062.059224.jpg
    Make a template
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1370121086.641434.jpg
Lay out machinist blue and scribe

    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1370121147.349162.jpg
Here they are with a rough shape the file and grind the scotch brute disks work best because then you have more time to shape and not take off so much material
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1370121242.582483.jpg
Looks pretty good still a little more shaping to do but can wait till I rebuild the blower and polish it

Got my spreader bar brackets cut out
    ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1371098308.148243.jpg

I shaped them and added a chamfer to each hole.then I shaped each ear to the leg off the eelco tank bracket.

It's not welded to the spreader bar yet ill up load some more pictures when I do. The pictures don't do these brackets justice just how cool they actually look.
