Finished an engine and trans rebuild today, got her fired up. Ah, sweet success. But where did all these leftovers nuts, bolts, clamps and wires go? Seems like it happens every time. I know I replaced some old fasteners but..

At least I didn't do like my old friend and find a rod nut on the bench afterward!

Papaw always said that if you didn't have any nuts or bolts left over, you did it wrong.

He also said you could dump them in the carburetor and they would find their way home.

You have improved the efficiency of it by lightening it up. :D

    A nutty thread.

  7. are they on the floor or the bench? that will tell you weather they are for the top end or the bottom end , and be sure to look at the orientation, that will determine which side they go on , just like nails , if you pull them out of the bag .... and the head is to the siding on the house ............. there for the other side .

Friend of mine says that if you work on the same car long enough you'll have enough leftover parts to build another one just like it.
