Got a phone call a couple of weeks ago about a coupe in a barn for sale. Instantly called and jumped in the truck with my dad and off we went on what usually turns out as a wild goose chase. Pull up to the old farm house and sure enough out in the back hay barn was stored a crispy barn fresh 41,000 original miles 1934 ford 5 window coupe. We get the story on it, and check it out very closely. It apparently was bought originally here in ohio and was garage kept most of its early life. It was a little old ladies car. She would only take it out on nice days, ect... And all the kids wanted to drive it, but they never were allowed, well then she p***ed away and p***ed it on to her nephew in 1955. He drove it for a little while and blew up the engine in 1956. He then pulled off the front end and pulled the motor and pushed it into the corner of the garage. The original flathead was sent to a community college and was completely rebuilt. Sad thing is, the motor never made it back into the car and the rats took over inside the car. Everywhere a rats nest was, there is rust issues. Some it the weirdest places. It sat completely apart in an ohio barn from 1956 to 2012 untouched. Finally the nephew decided to sell it to his friend in 2012 because his health was fading. Well the new owner decided that the car was too much of a project to be taking on, so that is why it is now for sale. Me and my dad looked the car over really good. My dad has been looking for another 5 window ever since he sold his last one to build his house. We discussed it though, and decided that the price was out of our league right now, but we would keep in touch. Well over the next couple of weeks we kept talking about the coupe and how we would build it in our minds. We decided to ride back out to the guys house and talk to him again. As we pulled up, we noticed the car missing from the barn. Oh ****! He sold it. So we knock on the door, and ask if he still has the coupe. He says he decided after talking to us, he decided to keep it and fix it. So its down in the other garage and he started working on it and already orders some patch panels. After about an hour of talking and looking the car over again, we kind of persuade him to sell us the car. We let him keep the motor, and some other parts, but we got what we came for. We already have a brand new 34 ch***is at home with a new rebuilt motor sitting and waiting for it. So all we really needed was the main body, hood, aprons, ect. Anyways, here are some pictures. It will be a good winter project for us after we finish my roadster. Enjoy.

Awesome, yet another 34 coupe barn find!
We're really seeing a lot of cars starting to become available due to guys being too old to work on them or flat out p***ing away.

  12. It will be a sad day when these amazing finds don't happen any more.
Congrats, you got a great one there!

Glad you guys went ahead, bit the bullet and bought the car.

Many of us have hesitated and let nice cars get away while we procrastinated to think it over,,,always strike while the iron is hot!

You have a nice looking 5 window,,keep us up to date on the build. HRP

  27. rat/mice any animal piss, if their nest is left there long enough will do some major damage to metal. I picked up a nice 53' Desoto one time and the inside was rusted to **** because ra****s made it their home. The **** piss and **** ate everything up! Good for you on the find!
