Hi Guys My name is Gary Davis and I am from the SF Bay Area originally and moved to NC 15 years ago. I have always been a gear head form day one. I was lucky to meet Steve Archer when I was young and spent ever minute I could hanging around Steve to learn all I could. He used to make all the bodies for Andy's Instant T's. I bought a 32 Sedan when I was 18 and keep it until I needed money for a divorce later in life. I used to make equipment and custom headers for Sanderson for a lot of years along with do a lot of machine work and fabrication for people in the area. I raced motorcycles from 1972 to 1978. I bought a CNC mill 20 years ago and taught myself how to program and operate it because I enjoy making stuff. I bought a 1972 Ranchero in 1978 that I chopped the top three inches and molded all the door handles and clearance lights then I painted black to match my 1972 Sanger flat bottom that has a blown big block ford in. In about 1977 my room mate at the time "Rick Tommissi " and I built a pro street Vega with a blown big block. It was on the cover of Car Craft also in Cars Mag and Hot Rod mag choose it as one of the ten best street cars in the early eighties. I still love anything mechanical ! I am enjoying the "Golden Years " of life ! hahahaha Gary
Hi! So to put it in perspective, I was busy being born while you were building a badazz Vega! Any tips to this young buck as I venture into the world of the era I missed?
Thanks Guys ! @ rlynch1977 All you have to do is believe in your self. When we started the Vega I had never built anything close to it.
Welcome to NC! Make your way down to Concord on any given Wednesday night for the Iron Lord's shop night. They're on Church Street/Hwy 73 east, between downtown and Hwy 29! You may regret it, but you'll have a blast! PS. Don't tell them that B4C sent you!
