Found a 55 Chevy wagon thanks to Buick8 and bought it for my wife. We had a 55 sedan and have missed it since we sold it. It has the original running v-8 and three speed and just needs brakes to drive. It's not pretty but thats what winter is for. He also had a 55 sedan drag car and a 47 Merc all original but paint and wheels with 28000 original miles.

I got to talking to him and he told me about all this home made speed equipment he made. I'm going back this weekend and I'll try to get some pics of it. He's selling the 55 sedan for $7500 hell of a deal for a solid car. The guides in the picture are for sale to, $2000 and he'll throw in the truck.

What do you think low rider or gasser for the wagon?

Are those our only choices? Because I was going to say "vintage speedshop parts runner" and keep the three-on-the-tree.

Dammit junior you suck!:D I'd love to get a wag like that. I think it would look in light blue suade with a flaked roof, Matching Steelies and some wide whites. Maby some white scallops just to break things up but otherwise leave everthing else stock.

    Great find!

Bigcheese...It was a three on the tree but now it's on the floor. Parts hauler would be nice but when it's done I'll never get to drive it my wife will always need it...or may need it...or just don't want me to tear it up!

Rocket Sled...We were just talking about a light blue metalflake for the roof and I think a cream color for the rest. It was a baby blue originally and had white and light blue interior. I think I missed out on the Caddy I'm going by tomorrow to see if it's still there.

  7. Look in The latest Rodders Journal in the lonestar round up, theres a cool 55 wangon in the street racer/street dragster style, flat black five spokes, pretty cool.

I just saw this. My wife was just asking me if you got the caddy yet. She is really interested in seeing it.

Question, is that your garage the sedan is in? If so, you must be one skinny bloke to get in there:)

  10. FatABone,
How about a mostly stock '60's style "surf wagon" like my buddy's '56?

A set of period-correct valve covers from e-bay, some swap-meet Cragar 5-spokes or as-cast Americans, and some stickers in the quarter windows. Voila-- you're done, and she has a cool (yet sensible) driver!

    Hey Fatabone,
I am VERY INTERESTED in the mag wheels on your wagon.
    Wanna sell them ?
    Please send me a PM.

    Thanks,
    Cob

  12. I would prolly go for the lowered surf/shop parts runner myself, here is one i had a while back though to help you in your decisions, stacked front spindles, and flip the rearend under the springs (which is no problem on a street car). I think that if you were to go gasser like this, leave the 6cy and eventually ad a offy finned valvecover and a split long tube conventional header and maybe a 4 barrel intake.

jimbob...That is the container it's been stored in since 2000.
Garry...Thanks again for the contacts. Besides lowering it and paint it will be original.
Cob...keeping the wheels for now but if I decide to change them I'll send you a pm.
Okie...couldn't get the pics to work.
59Elky...that 56 4dr Buick is still around if start feeling lonely. Was told it drove in there and that was about a year ago and it has a nailhead.
