Hello my name is John Foster and my father Bob Foster owned Foster Auto Supply in Hayward California, does any of the race car picture still exist that the Delrio brothers drove ? I would love to get a copy if they have foster auto supply painted on the cars. Thanks
Sears Point no doubt. What a fun place, especially in the early 70's that I can speak to. Just love the roadster! - EM
I am seeking information about the Del Rio brothers. Were they associated with a construction company. I have come across a 33 Willis pickup with Del Rio constuction panted on the one piece fiberglass front end. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks
That is Tony’s cousins Dave and Jack Del Rio. They operated a construction company. Dave is my grandfather. Would love to see a pic of the front end! Thanks!
Funny Del Rio Bros. story, When I was a kid, 10, 12, something like that, I built a custom Schwinn Bicycle. Molded in the frame to make it look like a gas tank. I painted it Blue metallic. I took the frame to Del Rio Bros. and said I wanted flame pinstripes in orange on the tank area. Went back a couple days later to get it, and it was pinstriped in baby blue. I wasn't happy. Tony told me he didn't like the orange, so he did it baby blue. Here I am about 10 years old arguing with this big guy about baby blue pinstripes. Any way I paid him, wasn't much, maybe $25.00. And my bike had baby blue pinstripe flames.
My grandfather tells me some funny stories about all the crazy stuff they would get into together. Man they were some crazy SOBs.
Those were the days! I sure do miss all the crazy things that went on in Hayward, Sam Leandro area. Really glad I grew up there.
