Hi! does anyone have pictures of the R.C Williams(Kansas) 1969 FED? It was driven by Jim Bunker and Ray motes, It was one of the fastest AA/GD cars back then. Im told it should have been a red candy paint, and it said "RC Williams II" at the front. It was sold in 1969-70 to a man name John Kingston in Kansas City Missouri. That´s all i know about it. Reason im asking is that i have the car and want to restore it, but i have no pictures of how it looked back in the day. Please help me out here, i´ve looked everywhere on the internet for pictures but haven´t been able to find any. / Kenny Lundström from Sweden
Here is one from Don Ewald's dragster site, according to the caption, Motes was driving, 1970 winternationals at Pomona:
Wow that was fast! Thank you! This actually might be it, this really made my day. Does anybody have any more pictures? / Kenny
296ardun: I just recieved an e-mail from R.C daughter, who i have been in contact with, and this is the right car! according to her they didn´t have any pictures of the car, but she did say that she has seen another picture of it on the internet but she couldn´t remember where. 2deuces64: Thanks that would be great, as i mentioned i´ve been in contact with his daughter and i got the impression that at least she didn´t have any pictures of it, so if you bump into him please ask!
Found another picture that says -69 dallas, looks like the same car but in an early version, to bad all pictures are such bad quality. Anyone found more pictures? B-) /Kenny
I think the car you are looking for was purchased from RC Williams by Herb Hoover of Hayes, KS. I believe it was Herb who had the last single engine car of RC Williams before RC built the "twin". Herb had a "promo" handout photo of the car when he owned it and ran it with the Midwest Allstar's Top Gas Dragster circuit. I'm not sure if Herb is still with us, but there are many guys that belonged to the Midwest Allstars that may have a copy of that promo photo or another photo of that car in their s**** book. Try Ky Michaelson (ky@the-rocketman.com), he may have a photo of the car or know someone who does. Find the person(s) who did the bookings for the Midwest Allstar's and you will probably find the photo for which you are searching.
