I just bought a '47 Coupe, and the beltline trim is some weird stuff. From ten feet it's looks more-or-less stock, but up close it's not. Not ribbed, and no center peak either; it's simply rounded. It does have two small 'reliefs' about 3" long at the front of the hood spears, but other than that it's plain. Anybody seen these? Pretty flimsy too, so I doubt if it's OEM... The car has those bizarre cowl-mount mirrors that fit in place of the cowl trim and I want to get rid of those, but I'm not finding anything that matches.
The cowl trim is out there,but scarce.I've noticed that there are a couple different cowl mirrors out there and one is much better looking than the other....
If your hood trim is smooth surfaced with two line like accents at the front about 3-4" long that 48 Mercury trim. 48 Ford has smooth belt line trim with no ribs or indent.
