Introducing my latest distraction: 1936 5 window survivor....

The tires are actually larger than the ones that are on the front currently (the car is very low up front too) and smaller than the ones in the back. So, it will lower the rear some and raise the front some. I bolted up a set of 5.60's to it that belong to a buddy and liked the way it made it sit.

I guess we'll see...

 

Got the tires to the shop. Thanks to Couverkid, I got the two back wheels I had been searching for. So I will have them mounted up soon. Sent my skirts out to be painted and will have them back early part of next week.

 

Speaking of tires, This is the spare tire I took off the back.

Apparently they made this flap so that they could add weight to the back of the car when it was being drag raced. I've found the guy who owned it for 41 years, I will have to ask him about this when I speak to him next

very nice ---love 36's but have never owned one--am looking at a 35 3 window as my next possible project-yours is a real time capsule for sure.

 

35/36 3 window is on my bucket list for sure. I have been speaking to an older gentleman who has owned a 35 3 window since 1960 that he has never done anything with. It has sat in his garage untouched for all that time. The last time I spoke with him, he said he had pulled the body off to do some ch***is work. I'm supposed to go down there an look at it soon. It isn't "for sale" but you never know. Mostly I just want to see the car and offer to help him get it running and on the road.
