I am working with the interior on my Ford 3W Coupe and just bought the header panel above the windshield, and also the trim pieces on both sides of the windshield from Brookville. Now i am searching for the armrests, and Brookville doesn`t make them, is there some other reproduction armrest on the market that have original style and fit for the 3W?
The reproductions show up on ebay from time to time. PM DeuceRoadster, he might know where to get some. Frank
The photo he shows is of mine ... This may surprise you coming from me ... but I would not worry about getting the correct, original style armrests. They are so small that they are almost useless ... If I were to do it again ... I believe I would just get a set from a VW or other small 60's/70's vehicle and use them. I do see repro ones on eBay every so often. Original sets of 32 3W armrests sell for 5 hundred dollars and up. I paid $600 for the ones in your photo ( 3 or 4 years ago ) . Randy
I had a look at the Bob Drake armrests at the LA Roadster Show last weekend and they are old style Ford, but does not look like the original 3W...
Then i might just get some other ones that looks nice and are a little bigger, i talked with a guy in San Dimas, CA a week ago and he had bought original armrests to his 3W and paid 550 $ for his pair....
You must have been at the EarlY Ford store in San Dimas I was there also ... last week and bought a few pieces for my 32 Fords ... When in San Dimas ... I like to eat at the Italian resturant next to the Early Ford store. GREAT food at very reasonable prices ...
Get the real ones. Deuce Roadster just wants one less out there with the correct rests so he can continue to be a white-shoe hot rodder. Honestly, if you've gone through the trouble to find everything else and this is what you want... get 'em.
OK ... what is a white shoe hot rodder ?? And two ... good luck finding the real ones ... I looked for two years and considered myself lucky to find a pair that could be bought.
Thanks a lot, LeBaron Bonney have them and their price is $125.00 <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td><table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td class="pageHeading" valign="top">1932 3/window Coupe Armrests [RFP1932-3W]</td> <td class="pageHeading" align="right" valign="top"> </td> </tr> </tbody></table></td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> </tr> <tr> <td class="main"> Superb quality and excellent reproduction forms, cast from an original set. I paid 500$ for mine a few yrs ago, and they have rust. I have made a few sets for some guys, but for the amount of labour that it takes, it was getting hard to make it worth while, so I havent made any more. Kelly
Kelly, The armrests you made looks very nice, and i understand that it takes a lot of labour to make them. I have been working a little with metal shaping myself and it takes time. Tor
I can not fin these amrests at LeBaron Bonney anymore? And i only find 1 original for sale at Ebay, where the seller is asking $500 for a single armrest! I have also tried Google, without success... Does anyone know if there are reproduction ones for sale anywhere?
Tor,you posted this in 2010 and you had found them at LeBaron Bonney for 125.00,,did you not buy them at that time? HRP
No work on the interior has gone slow... and now i want to buy them. I have been looking a lot and searched on the LeBaron Bonney site, but i can not find them there anymore.
It seem like I saw them listed in the Wescott catalog but their on line catalog leaves a lot to be desired,,you might try E-mailing them an asking. HRP info@wescottsauto.com
I got the real ones at Ebay, at a nice price $356 for a pair! The car is at the upholstry shop now, it will get ready in a few weeks with everything in black leather.
And if somebody else need armrests, The Early Ford Store in San Dimas has some reproduticon ones, here is a link: http://lbcunited.com/earlyford2/pro.../5848?osCsid=843decd5b23a46202e025f1d35583237
