This has been sittin around for awhile and I thought I might as well use it. Anyone got a clue on the manufacturer/ Wiring? Looks like a knock off on the SW green line. Only visible info is "Made in the USA" and 305036 on the face and 305040 on the inside. I'm guessin the case is ground, red is power or coil and green is.......

  2. Yep that's Esther.
You know Esther, son of brother Dick; played ice skating and roller derby. Used to live on the hill. Died last week, the whole family died. ;)

Looks like it is probably a Dixon before they went off shore. Could have been sold under a variety of names by different companies like JC Penny, NAPA , uh Earls Speed Shop?

Looks alot like my RAC (Rite Automotive Corporation?) 8K tach. I think the RAC emblem is missing from the face

Can't see it in the pic but th mounting base is the same and it looks just like what you showed internally

I was going to say RAC also, but since it says, "Made in U.S.A.", it's doubtful. I thought all RAC tachs/gauges were imports from Asia. It was probably a mass produced tach that was sent out to many vendors to sell as their own, hence no label/name. Butch/56sedandelivery.

There are 2 of them on ebay now but of course the sellers have no idea on the wiring......
One shows 3 wires Green- Red- Black. Kinda leads me to think Black is GRD Red to 12V+ and Green to Coil. Might as well try it and see if I get to see the black smoke or a working Tach.
