Thanks a bunch! I dont care for the "Re-Styled" version but the earlier one is amazing. I am pretty sure I'm picking up a 59 Ranchero & I am thinking about doing some very similar kustom touches like this one.

    Thanks Again,
    SN

    Hit up Brad Masterson

He's most of the way through a clone of the Tiago Ranchero for a client of his.

He can give the details on the chop and other custom mods.

Not sure how often he's on here, but PM me if you want and I can get you in touch with him.

That is one of the best custom 57 - 58 Fords of all time (the first version). I heard it was rear ended in traffic so he just cut the back off and stuck some tail lights on so he could drive around. Later did the second restyling (shown above) with the shortened tail.

At some point it got some flames behind the front wheel that are my favorite flame job of all time.

WTF, you guys don't like the cut off version, its a icon of the custom world. The first version is just another chopped Ranchero, although a nice one. Cars are for cutting up.

love that car... If mine's even half as cool when it's done I'll be happy. Yea... that "restyled" version is not my cup of tea.

Call it an ICON all you want - it's still ugly with no flow to the design.
Cutting them up is only good if you improve on the original design.

The re-do got a lot more notice and admiration back in the day than did the original, because the re-do was fresh and groundbreaking. The first version was more or less just another custom, albeit it a very tasteful example. I appreciate both, but today I would prefer the older version, because in hindsight, the re-do was a little clunky, especially he front end.

Thanks fellas, I will know in the next two days if I get the Ranchero or not & if I do trust me I will start a build thread. Please keep your fingers crossed!
