That is the biggest waste of time on earth, but you have to go if you are already there..... My family wasted several hours of our lives getting there and it really wasn't that great (it was really hyped up from some other people we knew). Maybe I was just spoiled as a kid going all over the US with the family in our RV, I could understand appreciating it a little more if I didn't have the other experiences.. It is still a feat in itself though. The corn palace has a museum!!!!... of corn...... real interesting stuff.................that corn is.................... I think I would have an equal amount of fun going to the used toilet paper palace and viewing that museum. I think it would be less nauseating than the corn palace Just kidding, hope you have a good time. As I remember there were some kind of cool little places to eat around there.
Bob, here are two good options for supper Saturday night. Tailgaters in Brandon at Exit 406 close to Sioux Falls has killer food. Or if you wait another hour until you get to Mitchell you can eat excellent Chinese at the Twin Dragon next to McDonalds. If you want a nice diversion in Sioux Falls you can stretch your legs at Falls Park on the Big Sioux River, pretty cool place. See you Sunday!

The Corn Palace has a whole different kind of charm for me. I grew up a couple dozen miles east of Mitchell, and when I was in my late teens, a young lady that I was friendly with had a summer job giving tours of the Corn Palace. She was kind enough to give me a "private" tour in a very secluded part of the building.

Dad and brother said some flooding. Maybe one of the MPLS guys has more info. Their hotel was still w/o power last night so they headed home.
