I know it may be a little ot but, bear with me.......

    I have a '65 econoline pick-up........It has a 1979 Ford 300 in it........the valves need adjusting....

Does anyone have the valve-lash specs for a '79 ford 300? Anyone happen to have a manual covering valve lash etc...?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It depends on the year, but some are adjustable and some aren't. If you have the non tapered studs you can adjust them just like a chevy. My 72 has the adjustable style and I do remember there were 4 different variations on the rocker arm/studs, but that was a couple decades ago when I was head hunting for the old girl. If you have the tapered studs they will be non adjustable, just tighten til they bottom out. No reason you couldn't throw a washer under a good lock nut and adjust any of them if you need to. It is not uncommon to have a noisy lifter. My original engine had an intermittant noisy one for years before I rebuilt it. And FWIW, you would be amazed how much you can wake up a 300 with a little headwork and a Comp 260 cam.
