    Good morning
I am new to your site from Yukon Territory, Canada. I have a 1954 Dodge Town Panel and was referred to this forum from another site. He told me there is lots of info on how to do a frame swap, to get an updated drive train, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome,
Have you looked into just upgrading your current frame? Keep in mind old truck frames are pretty much straight where as modern truck's frame arches up in the rear a good bit. Its not as simple as just moving the body from one to the other. Before you jump into it make sure to take the time and research upgrade options for your stock frame. Many guys have done frame swaps and they never seem to look right, either the wheels are way inside the fenders or the back end sits way to high on the frame. But that being said its your truck so good luck with your project.

Welcome from South Korea, from another Mopar truck owner! I own a 57 Dodge very similar to your 54. the best frames for these trucks from my experience is a late 80's dakota very close to your frame keeps the same 5x4.5 lug pattern with IFS and keeps it Dodge, plus gives you mounts for small block Mopar, so a 318 or preferably a 360 can be dropped in. I have updated my Dodge from the old flathead to a 70's 360ci Engine but I still have the original frame, someday I might swap it over to the dakota frame for some better handling, better parts availability, but the old simple, reliable straight axle front and original frame are doing the job just fine......Enjoy the HAMB.

    Welcome.
I reckon your intro isn't so bad, but a bit more info is always welcome
Enjoy your time here - I recommend you research lots before jumping in too quickly, but then..............., what do I know?
