Going to replace the top wood & vinyl insert on the 31 A coupe soon, any pointers or just get out the chainsaw & go?

I removed all of the(rotten)wood from my coupe. I haven't had the time to replace it with the new stuff yet. I'd love to see and hear how yours goes.

I had to dis***emble the header and windshield area etc. It was harder than I thought to remove a bunch of rotten wood. Lots of rusted bolts and creative hack sawing. Hopefully yours won't be as difficult. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Yeah I'm into it about an hour so far & have found that old oak & metal bolts have a tendancy to fuse themselves together really well, windsheild, visor, plate below visor & the header is off so far, glad they dont nail cars together anymore.

Me and my pop put new wood in his A coupe roof. The wood kits were expensive, but well worth it for the results. They fit very nice. We finished the new wood with weatherseal before installing, in case it gets damp. New carrage bolts were required in several different lengths. A sheet of 1/4" masonite works good in place of chicken wire in the roof, and you can glue new vynil right to it, and it won't press in if you lean on it.

This place is unreal...I am just working on my wood now!! Those pictures are perfect.

I bought a top wood hardware kit. Has all the fasteners.
