Saw this photo in the roadster show coverage. Is it a one off or is Brookville going to make a 32 tub body?
I talked to them about it last year, at this point this is a one off, they were gauging interest, trying to figure out if it was worth the time & money to tool it up.
I like it a lot too. But, if it goes into production, I bet it is so expensive that I could build two nice cars for what that body would cost.
It wouldn't be cheap but what a great family cruiser it would make. All that backseat room for people or things you need to carry with you. I like it. Don
I talked to them at last year and again at this year's show. They are still just building this one. I put my name in for one and they said it would be priced for the market.?? Since you don't see many tubs (except for Wescott) I would think the demand is not there. I would love to have one but I will be too old to drive if I wait for a reproduction model. I would settle for a nice reproduction sedan in a heartbeat. Paul's tub was rumored to be sold for a six figure number to a customer in Japan. His was the best in my mind.
Would be nice to add one to the list of 32's in the family Hot Rod collection. Just in case I think I will put some parts together for maybe another build. Good stuff.
I love tubs, but this is a good point. I learned to drive in this tub... <a href="http://s4.photobucket.com/user/danhay/media/Dads/32tub.jpg.html" target="_blank"></a>
It's the breeze Danny. The wind will blow your hair in the street. 'Wouldn't bother me, but the ladies might take extreme offense.
I hope not haha! I put my wife through a lot of turmoil to get the original one I have. Hoping someone trades me an original chassis for my Ionia built frame so I can get started next winter. I need a ride that holds the kids properly. Paul Gommi's was the reason my mind was changed towards touring bodies. I believe his was one of the only ones that looked deserving of the word hot rod. Just plain bitchin.....and I could have sold off a bunch of stuff off of it and it still would have been cool as hell.
I find it interesting that some of you think a Brookville built 2 dr body which would surely cost 25,000 as a bare body seems to look like a viable deal. But when a really nice original 2 dr body with extras is offered for sale at 20 it's to much money??? I think the market for a 4 door tub is very limited, check with Carl as to how many he's sold over the years.
