My aftermarket chromoly Anglia style spindles came with bosses to weld to your individual suspension. A stout chromoly axle will be strong, can be set up to run straight and look juuuuuust right.:D
I have friends running their dropped axle, split bones, Ford spindle 1/8th mile cars( see pic ) in the high 8s when they run a full quarter.

Love all the info. I know what I'm doing is nothing new to you guys.
I'm just wanting to do something different than I've done before.
We have narrowed the rear 6" on each side. Going to tuck a 15" tire a little bit under the car and let the rest hang out.
Do you think I could get away with a old style front engine dragster front end (no brakes) with the single leaf spring & some shocks/coil springs?
I found a nice chrome set up on here for sale.

Not to be picky or highjack the thread, but shouldn't BOTH rear wheels be on the pavement? I would think that this would cause a loss of traction.

Haven't got any good times on this car. Been having motor problems since the start. But runs straight and true at 120. Id feel comfortable at 140-150 in it. Just start out slow and work you way up to full power. Till you get use to the car. It is a odd feeling when the front end comes off the ground for the first time.

Mono-leaf set-ups have their own tunings. They have particular behaviors. Track demands are unlike road demands, so this is where I might investigate more.

    Good to know.
so I might be better off leaving the leaf springs off and using coil overs?

In street use, I first tried a mono, then changed to a better performing multi-leaf.

Not to mention cause the car to turn while on one wheel-not a good thing.

Ya-know, chromed front end parts are a bit like make-up, on the fairer gender. First, make your design right. Then make it pretty after it proves out safe.

It's all about putting on a show. I do wheelstands with my straight axle Chevy II and I don't care what e.t. I run.
