I sold my first one to buy the wife a sewing machine, always regretted it. When I bought my second one, a few years later, she tried to get it in the divorce. Still have the car 40 years later but the wife is long gone.
I miss all my 1940 Fords,2 sedans,3 coupes a convertible and a pickup,,also had a 39 coupe,,miss them all. HRP
Still have mine(coupe). It's my first car...dad bought it the same year I was born. We built it together when I was 15. I'll live in it before I'll part with it.
I've had my deluxe coupe since the spring of 1960. Several different engines and trans combo's, wouldn't consider selling it. Way to many good memories. Toolroomer
Have always wanted one, hopefully the stars and the moon and all that crap will all be aligned one day.
A little clarification would be helpful. My 40 has been going strong for 30 years now, and it keeps going, going, going, with me in it!
And on the 7th day, about 515 pm, HE created the 1940 Ford, model 01A. HE left it up to our freewill to choose which body style.
I got mine 7 years ago. 45000 actual miles. I added a 4 inch dropped axle, chrome 50 merc wheels. 8.20's and 5.60 15's and a 49 cadillac engine adapted to the stock driveline. its a keeper
My two '40 Fords. I've had the coupe since I was 5 years old, and learned to drive a standard tranny in the truck, when I was about 13 or so. Both permanent "members" of my family.
This one belonged to Danny Kilcup when I was born, he still had it when he died. By the way if anyone is building a true '50s style '40 Ford this is a good example. if I had a '40 that was not toast I would have a hard time giving it up myself.
Mine is a little more of a beater but I have had it for 20 years and it will be my son's one day. It's a well used but solid car and has been a lot of fun.
I've had my 40 since 98. It went through a suspension/driveline change in 2001-2 but I've driven the wheels off of it since ....
