I'm trying to put a Tach on my 51' Hudson, but I can't figure out what I need. The car is still running its original 6 volt positive ground system, and it has points.

I assume that I will need to use an analog Tach, but whatever works works. I do not care if it doesn't look era correct or that I doesn't have a back light.

    Thanks Paul

  3. Paul,
You are going to have to find a 6V tack or a mechanical tack. Either will probably look era correct. For a mechanical you get get a tach drive from a GM truck that goes on the back side of your genny, but it will probably not be really accurate as you would have to drive the genny just like it was in the truck or corvette to get it really accurate (same ratio pulleys).

Just look in out classifieds old tachs come up from time to time.
