Hey fellas (and ladies). I've always been an admirer of cl***ic cars, hot rods, and customs as my buddies have grown up around them, one friend has a 72 Chevelle, another has a 55 Chevy 5-window pickup and a 69 Camaro, and another (well... his dad) has a various ***ortment of old muscle cars, but I've never actually had my own... I started saving up my money and started searching for affordable project vehicles that were in repairable shape (for a newbie)... specifically looking for a truck. Found one on craigslist, drove about 4 hours to go look at it (took a trailer in case i decided to get it), test drove it, looked it over, and bought a 1954 Chevy 3100 Short bed Stepside on the spot... They were asking $4800, and they came down quite a bit (cash talks!) Great Birthday gift to myself!! Enjoy some pictures! Loading it on the trailer (not the original bed... obviously, think its off a 77?) Looks good back there! (there's a year original bed... for fixing up.) Almost home... Interior Seats, and rubber floor mats out! Little wire brushing done!
Welcome from another Buckeye, I'm more East of you towards the Ohio River. Nice find, should be a great driver while you also add your own touches. Maybe see ya at one of the cruises between us someday. Topstrap
I'm sure I'll be around a few cruises and shows someday, Topstrap! And Veach, for right now just fixing spots of rust, going through the brakes, repairing the 54' bed and putting that on instead of the bed on it now. Eventually re-painting. But, as a kid just out of college... There's a tight budget.
