Not all 282 heads are the same cc. Plus there is a lot of variation in castings so you should cc them and use a compression calculator. And of course, why would you? Head CC's Compression Calculator
If they are the 3737775 heads used on 62-67 283 and 327 they are 75 cc, probably not too much compression but you need to verify they are 75 cc and run the compression calculator. 3737775 75cc 1.72 1.50 1962-67 283/327
283 heads will not last in real world service. No lead gas will kill them quickly. Use 305 heads.. if you want compression.
They are 520 castings and just had them all done for my 283, but I have a chance to buy a finished 327 short block, trying to savr some money.
That's a nominal 60 cc head, so you need head gasket thickness and dish or dome of your .030 pistons. An Example : Note that is 6cc of dish. .010 in the hole, arbitrary 21 degree @ .050 mild cam
