No not the GREAT RACE, but the Mayors Choice Award at the car show that was held in CAPE GIRARDEAU MO. We had a great time as the cars came into town Tues, afternoon, But the big winner was our JOE KLINKHARDT 32STUPRES in his 1932 Studebaker President.
Thanks David for the accolades and pics....huge crowd at Cape Girardeau, MO last night to greet the Great Race participants (99). Also had approximately 175 cars that attended the show that was also intended to make the Racers feel our Missouri hospitality....This was quite an honor considering the ole Stude has 86,000 hot rod miles on her now......Joe All the purists were in awe when I popped the hood!!
Joe, congrats are due! Neat Studebaker with 86,000 hot rod miles, lets think how many other hot rods have been driven than far. Bob

Congrats Joe!!!!! That is one hell of a nice car and one hell of nice guy to boot! I love that car & Joe too. XOXOXOXO They made gas stops in Warrenton on the way to Washington MO for lunch stop. You know me of course I had to go say Hi! I got a hug from some guy name Curtis from Tx. I talked to guy from Jeff City MO in a red corvette with the Moonshiners. My dad always wanted to do that race, I followed it when I was young. Does anyone know when the first race was?
Hi Joe - I saw your car at the SDC meet in Springfield in 2011. I was very impressed with the car and your workmanship.
The first race was in 1983. I had the good fortune to have a friend who offered to pay the entry fee in 1998 if I'd get my '32 Plymouth coupe restored in time. We ended up doing it in '98, '01, '02, '04, and '06. It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on! I drove out to Germantown this week to see a lot of my old friends as they came in for the overnight stay.
