    Hello,

First of all, English is not my native language, so sorry for my bad english :p

My name is Guus, I am from the Netherlands, 23 years old, and I am studying as an Automotive Engineer. In the Netherlands I work at Van Kronenburg Autosport (www.van-kronenburg.nl), Located in Geldrop. Now I'm doing an internship at Armstrong Race Engineering located in Loomis, California. (www.drysump.com)

Since the first day that I was here, I just couldn't believe how much old cars were still around over here. So I told my boss that I really want an old american car, to drive around with. I got on craigslist and I found a Dodge Brothers from somewhere between 1920 and 1924 I think.. I don't know anything about the car either, except for that it runs and I can drive it!

I bought it, or actually my boss over here bought it for me(!) from a very nice and friendly guy in Sacramento, but it didn't moved for a lot of years, so when I got it, I had to clean the fueltank, carb, vacuum tank, and had to put new fuel lines on it. I also replaced a sparkplug because it was broken, and put new oil in the engine. So now it runs like new! Yes!! :)

    Here are some photo's:

This is at the previous owner,

And now, as you can see, it runs great!!! haha! :p

And these are my cars in the Netherlands:

This one is taken at work. My Volvo 244 GLT from 1979 (yeah, sold the white car in this picture.. didn't like the color...... hahah! :D)

And this is my Golf (rabbit) from 1982, people are drawing on it all the time! :p

Now I have one last question..
The Dodge came without any paperwork, does anybody know what the things are that I have to do to get it registerd!?
Plus, I think I need to sell it over here, because by the dutch rules for cars, I can't drive it without fenders, and it can't have any sharp edges, etc etc.. :(

    best regards,

    Guus

Welcome to the HAMB and the USA! There are a lot of Dodge Brothers owners here that can help you with parts and info on your DB. Bob

Why don't you bring the Dodge to Holland ? With (temporarily) fenders and hood it is possible to registrate in in the Netherlands and it would be a nice new car in the small Dutch hotrodscene.

Welcome Guus, to the US, the HAMB, and to the DB world. Your car should have a metal tag on the floorboard where the p***enger's feet would sit. It will have the serial number on it. I can tell you what month and year by that number. If it doesn't have that tag look carefully on the frame, at the rear shackle on the right front axle. The number is also stamped into the frame there, but it's very light. You may have to clean or sand, or hold a light JUST right to see it. Should begin with A- then the number if newer then January 1924. I THINK you may have a hybrid, meaning a few years combined. The radiator looks very tall, which would be about '24. The cowl looks to be a lower cowl, which would be earlier, maybe '20-'22. The windshield leans back, not verticle, so that is after 1920. Let me know what you find. Have fun most of all!! And your English is just fine, much better then our Dutch.

..also note that the firewall is smooth, without the usual Dodge sunburst embossing. I worked on a Dodge like that last year and the long-time early Dodge collector/owner thought it may be export/Canadian as he never saw a smooth firewall before.

Hi guys. I am Gary, Guus's "boss". I would like to thank you all for your kind help, knowledge and support on the DB. As i think he said, we are in the racing business, designing and manufacturing high tech components for racing engines. Guus is here as an intern from college in Holland. As soon as he arrived he started talking about American hot rods! Guus is doing all our CAD drawings. You are all great amb***adors to our great Country, thanks again! He is a very sharp and capable young man, and has that 80+ year old car running great, and I am a race car / sports car guy, and really know nothing about the DB. It is a way cool project for him. Anyone have any ideas as to what it is worth??
    All the best, Gary Www.drysump.com

    Wauw!

Thanks everybody for the welcome messages..
But also for the info about my Dodge!
When the temperature drops a little bit, I am gonna look for the numbers on the car.
The only thing I know already is that there is no floorboard left. Its made out of wood right now.

I will let you guys know when I found something!
