A little bit off topic car I have.....
I have a '94 Caprice with the LT1 engine. The water pump and coupling wore out. I order a new water pump from my local store. It arrives and is a good looking aluminum job. While I'm waiting for the coupling, I take the front cover off the new pump. NO IMPELLER. I zip back to the store with it. He calls Vancouver and they have another one in stock. I told him to ask them to take off the cover. Yup, NO IMPELLER. Made in China. I get one sent from Edmonton, rebuilt in Canada. Yes, it has an impeller.
Now...what would have happened if I had installed that with no impeller? Rip out the rad 'cause the cars overheating? Who would pay for all the labour?
    OK, I'm done.

Like Robert Earl Keen said, I don't hate the Chinese for taking our jobs. I hate the people (CEOs) who sent them there.

I ordered some American Racing Wheels for an OT vehicle 10+ years ago.

I asked if they were made in America before ordering them,
and checked the shipping boxes for "Made in USA" when they arrived.

    After I got them home,
I saw those little oval "Made in China" stickers INSIDE the wheel, where the tire would cover cover it, once mounted.

And things have gotten a lot worse in the 10 years since then.

He always said he'd 'hang around as long as we would let him'...

About the 'Made in USA' legend: There is a 'Manufacturing Province' in China, (actually, a large group of them) one in particular is a MFG plant of machined metal products. There are large plants around in a plot, and this city-within-a-city is named "U.S.A."

Remember the first stainless steel die cast batwings?

The name and locale planning reminded me of Los Angeles's 'City of Industry' years back, only in this case not 'legitimate')

Harbor Freight has products that are named as a Tribute to this great country of ours.
'Chicage Pneumatic': If you think these pneumatic tools were mfd in Chi-Town, you're ****ing some of that hot air...
