Chevy Truck 55-59 Door Sill Bracket

I'm working on a 58 Chevy Truck and installed new doors sills early in the project and now noticed the repops didn't have the "V" bracket installed on them. Does anyone know a vendor that may make them? They look easy to fab but I don't have a roller to make the bead which seems important for support. Thanks !

 

Get some 1/8" x 1" flat band steel and bend in a vice. It will be as strong, or stronger. 3/4 would work, too

 

I've used light gage angle iron. Weld it on with the V pointing to the ground. Strong like bull.

it really doesn't serve as much of a purpose anymore, but do what the above suggested and you will be fine. I just replaced both of my steps. It was kind of a pain, good luck!

 

Thanks 1959apache I've looked at your thread many times and enjoyed the information and pictures. I'm getting there and refitting all the sheet metal now before paint, the frame and drive train are complete. I'm looking forward to firing up the engine too!
