'55 buick frenchin' question

Now i am sure thousans' of people have frenched the healights on '55 buicks, but I was thinkin' (not supposed to do that, i know) about givin it "eye lids" cause I kinda like the bezels/ surrounds. Any thoughts? has this been done before? or am i just plain nuts?

 

Have thought of doin that with mine as well, will be interested to see replies.

 

Don't know if any one has tryed the "eye lid" idea or not, but if you are going to french a 55' Buick the best way is to use the 51'(?) Merc headlight trim rings .(Night Prowlers sell them)
Almost nuts on for the diameter, little welding, very little bondo, and your'e set to go.

Maybe you could modify them with a little crative tin bending to acheive that "eye Lid" look.
