I am trying to convince my wife that camping is the way to go next year. Just curious to see how cold it gets at night. Also what else is there to do in the area other than the races? Anything to see or do?
Wendover NV meng,,, Gamblin, Booze an broads... ... dont forget that SLC is only what,,, hour and 10 minutes away as well,,, not all that far for a day trip it can get pretty chilly after the sun goes down, but i dont think its that drastic this time of year
August stays pretty warm, October can get pretty cold. There is always the possibility of rain. Ummm, something else to do in Wendover . . . uhhh . . . gamble, drink, ***ty bar? I think there might be some old mines and stuff that you could explore, if you are into that. Also, during '05 speedweek, I saw a sign that said "drag racing" maybe theres a local track or air stip they use. Beats me.
might be advertising for rocky mountain raceway in SLC... Wendover and large breasted wimminz still gets my vote... i always wanted to get a bucket of paint an change the signs for the Rainbow casino from "loosest slots" to,,, well you get the picture
define camping. bags on the salt or a cot? small fold out camping trailer? A tear drop trailer a regular trailer every body has a diffferent comfort level. Mine is a hotel room.
It doesn't get cold at night, maybe into the lower 70's, as for camping, you can camp for free @ the bend in the road, no water, no power, no ****ters, no NOTHING, or you can stay in Bendover @ the KOA, it's about $18 a night for a site, pool, store, ****ters, casinos are walking distance, that's where we've stayed the past 5 years, not a bad deal in my eyes As for stuff to do during the evening, other than casinos and general HotRod related BSing with the boys, there's nothing, You can check out the historic air field museum, pretty cool **** out there, the dragstrip is there as well, but I don't know that I've ever seen a car on it. My plan was to go to the KOA ground and pitch a tent. I guess I have a year to do some searching for other attractions. Thanks
We've got a number of women that travel with our crew. None of them have found much in the way of shopping, or sight seeing that they'd do on their own. A couple of them do some gambling, but most just hang out in the pit and visit, read, relax, laugh at us working on the car, become victims of water fights, start water fights, drive the pick-up car (meeting us at the end of a run) etc. There are lots of other women at Bonnevliie who'll work hard to get yours more involved too. Denise (HRLC) when she's there, and Hot Rod Liz and her crew never stand still on the salt. These ladies are all over the place visiting and having fun. I'm sure they find the time too short to catch up to everyone they know out there. Mike
