Is it always cold at the Pileup or is this year an exception?

  3. Now that's the kind of story that'll keep you from filling those holes! Thanks, that's cool to know.:D

  4. I guess the First one was rain and cold..., but the three I went to were Cold..., Warmish..., and "Cooler"...! ;)

  5. Average Chicago temp. in Oct. is 52.8 degrees, so expect cold. Weirdly, temp a week before was 85 degrees.

  6. no problem! i thought it was a really cool story too. i love hearing that kind of stuff!

  8. that's about it!
that first one had the mega downpour that forced everyone inside the shop at just about the same time the bands started playing. kinda wierd how that happened. there's no damn way that everyone at this years show would have fit in that shop!

Good lord great pictures, lots of great looking cars. I REALLY loved the 2 blue buckets, they show that a t-bucket can be a great looking rod if styled right, please leave the br*** lanterns and neon paint at home. One of my next projects will be a low-buck bucket, cuz they get no respect

  12. I agree. They're both consistent head-turners no matter where they are. Here's a few more pics of them. Great view from the rear on Jim Unruh's bucket.

Yep...both total wicked T buckets....without a doubt. They both remind me of the Kookie T....always dug that ride too...

If I remember right, wasn't the blue car made from an early fifties Buick?

  15. ***ume you mean this bug-eyed ****** and not the blue T-bucket above. You might be onto something. I can see an IFS, but looks like an Olds mill, so maybe made from an Olds rather than a Buick?

If I recall it was an olds, like early 50s, and they just cut it up. You can see the grille/ headlight ***y. is the hood cut short and sectioned together.

that bug-eyed car belongs to one of the show's sponsors... or maybe a vendor. I can't remember... and I don't knwo anything about it... but someone told me once!

FYI, a lot of Gary C's pics were taken ouutside the agte of the rejects... hence all the bling.

Root, the first show we did was like it was this weekend, but with a lot of rain, the last two years it was sunny and 75. Last week it was around 90. Chicago weather is unpredictable in the spring and fall... but that didn't stop nearly 1000 cars from coming out!

yeah the first few pages of mine were shot outside the gate.. as I snap pics of anything / everything that catches my eye. Be it traditional / street rod / custom / whatever. Little did I know at that point I was without a second charged battery - thus the shortage of pictures from *inside* the gate... sorry about that one guys.
