Hello my name is Zac. I'm new to this forum, however I have visited here many times prior to registering. I've always been in to cars, trucks, motorcycles, anything fast or cool enough to do something stupid. At any, I've recently turned my interest towards my 1931 Ford coupe. My dream car is a 32, but....

I've torn apart suspension, brakes, and rebuilt a motor with a lot of help, and I'm looking to take my skills and knowledge to the next level with this project. I have A LOT to learn, I understand this, and fortunately at 25 I've got a relatively good amount of patience, I'll never know it all.... who does. Recently picked up a plasma cutter and welder, slowly acquiring other tools necessary for this project. I am happy to receive any help, knowledge, wisdom, advice that someone of more experience is willing to give me. I joined this website because of the straight forward and sincere members that make this place what it is, hoping someday I'll be on the other end, helping someone in the same shoes I am in right now.

I've uploaded pictures of the 31 on my profile.... CHECK EM OUT.

    Thanks All,
    Zac

shoot, looks like all Model A coupes had 5 windows.... probably didn't need to designate that... and the learning begins!

Yeah but we still seem to call them that anyways.....Lots of people don't know. Kinda helps them see it in their minds eye. Very rarely do I have John Q Citizen tell me "hey you don't have to say 5 window, they didn't make a 3 window until 1932"

Great looking coupe, get after it. What a good looking starting point . I have built with one heck of a lot less lol

    nice find ....

  10. That A looks rough. Won't find much love for it on this board. If you let me know where you are I'll come and pick it up so you don't have to worry about It.

    Welcome aboard!

It certainly helps to see it when saying "5 Window" I'm just glad I'm learning things on here without being laughed out of a thread, sooner or later I'll post something that gets some negative attention, hopefully I can provide more positives. We are all copying someone typically, if you think about it, very few originators, and most modified someone else's original idea. Thanks!

A bit facetious... I'd say that trip from BC might outweigh the reward...eh probably not, I'm open to selling anything for the right price, (don't look too much in to that), but I'm pretty eager about tearing in to this one before I unload it to a new owner. Thanks for coded compliment... I think

Welcome from East Alabama. Looks like a great start. Listen to everyone's advice, weigh it then do what you want to it. I would use restraint. Drive it for a season before you chop it. Then consider trading for one already chopped and leave the barn find in close to original state. Just me.

Ha Ha, yeah I've got a sbc and 671 blower that I plan on giving a go around. Gonna try n box the original frame, maybe mild chop/channel, but I like the looks of a cut down splash apron, full fendered, unchopped coupe... Time will tell, I'll post updates once I have something worthy of posting :)

And "26 roadster" it was definitely a good find, i'm glad it comes with basically everything I need.
