Hello everyone! I keep browsing these boards every time I get a new project, although most of them end up selling before I can start working on them.

Anyhow, I'm Dave, and I am a West Central Wisconsinner... Did I just say sinner? Sorry!

So I am posting an intro because I just picked up another project, probably my roughest one ever, so I don't think it will be sold anytime soon. It is a 1947-54 GMC truck. Haven't ran the numbers yet to know for sure on the year, as they haven't been delivered yet! I actually bought a pair of trucks, one five window one three window, one gmc one chev. I gave up the five window cab/frame to cover pulling the rest of the stuff home. The plan is to build a basic driver/shop truck that I can use to pull my own stuff home with! I plan on replacing the rear end with something a little more useful than the 5.13 gears! Also in the works is a basic 350/350 combo that will be hiding under some paint and an old caddy air cleaner(if I can find one)... A little drop, disc brakes on the front and a receiver hitch.

I am looking for ideas on color, wife wants me to paint it shiny....

So now a little about me...Started wrenching on my bicycle when I was 5/6.. Moved on to cars by age 10, and computers by 17... As for the cars, bought my first one at age 13:

[IMG][/IMG]This is with a front clip from my second car, a four door aspen bought for the front clip!
    [IMG][/IMG]And a few deals later...

Had a 53 Chevy 3100 but no pics of that. Then I found this:

[IMG][/IMG]This is after work had begun, farm boys don't wait to take pictures, we just dive right in. This ended up with volare front and 8 1/4 rear end, along with the 318/904 all out of the same 1978 roadrunner(volare). Seat came from a 1978 olds delta 88 that I blew up the day after getting my drivers license.

Other vehicles included: 1955 Ford fordor, 26 Model T coupe(made a frame out of a 1980 ltd rear frame section and stock t front!), T bucket project in the works(on indefinite hold) and other rides totally inappropriate for this forum!
