hell yeah it was!! at least from what i remember. so which one were you?? funny, i did'nt realize that guy with Tyler was Rashy either.
Fools bar was great friday night. i gotta thank Magnet for letting me hit on his girlfriend all night :D . as cool as he is she's even cooler ;) . hung out with and met lots of folks at Fools. the "Dumb Whore" was a riot too. and that other girl who had her bra off for a while... things were starting to get blurry at that point, names were lost in the fog, sorry.
and hell, that was just the start of the first night. back at the CI the party in the parking lot was jumpin with Mel, Frizby, Plowbitch and the boys holding down the fort till we got there. you all shoulda seen the look on the clerks face when 20 of us drunk hot rodders came strolling into the "adult book store" next to the hotel. he had this scared look in his eye like he was about to be gang raped. Aaron bought his gay porn and a masturbating wind-up cop figure and we were back out to the parking lot for more beer.
the next day everyone kept telling HotRodDrummer and myself we were the life of the party. thing was, we could'nt remember most of the night :D . funnier than that was when Mongo and Pinball came knockin on our hotel room door to wake us up saturday and HRD asked if we'd hung out in the parking lot at all after we left the bar. we all laughed at his drunkin forgetfulness and then i started reminding him of things like the visit to the porno shop. hell, the longest part of the night was after we left the bar. well, not for Pinball and Mongo. they went up to their room for some Gay Michigan love as soon as we got back from the bar. :D

consequently for the actual show i was in sortof a daze. plus the fact that my nuts nearly froze clean off  . i'm thinking a heavier jacket and some long sleeve shirts may have been the things to bring.

saturday night it was back to the bar. i grabbed a ride with little Nicky in his BADASS 32 Vicki. it's definatley not setup to be drivin by tall people. i had to lay down to see out the winshield  . i did'nt hang out long and i was starting to miss all my gay friends back at the CI. so little Nicky and i headed back to the hotel (seeing as he's not old enough to get into the bar anyway) where i found HRD hanging out in the parking lot with a couple of greasers and Mongo and Pinball up in their room doing God knows what. well i gathered the troups and went to the bar at the Chilis next door, seeing as the waitress we had the night before invited us back to hang at the bar with her. well she was already gone but the bartender was just as cute and even more fun to talk to. i tried to get Mongo and HRD laid by asking her if she had any "easy" friends. she almost came out with the names of some coworkers too, before she thought better of it.

by the time we downed a $14 pitcher of beer and started on a second our stomachs were reminding us of the mayhem the night before. we bid the bar wench a fond farewell and went back to the hotel where Plowbitch and his fan club had finaly gathered. i think we were all alot more mellow than we were the night before. a couple hours into the fun (and a few more cans of beer) i decided i realy needed to drop the kids off at the pool. while i'm doing my business back in my room i'm thinking to myself "i wonder when the cops are gonna show up". my question was answered when i got back down to the parking lot and there were two squad cars parked and one officer had Plowboy bent over the hood in handcuffs. ofcourse i think that was per Plowboy's request. :D the officer kindly asked us to disperse, which we did, about an hour and a half later.

in short. it was a realy good fuckin time!! Triumph Terror, CAS, those i already mentioned and slew of others whos names i've already forgotten, it was great hanging with ya.

After the party at Fools, I had to run to WalMart quick. On my way in there was several cop cars and an ambulance. Guy on a stretcher all wrapped up. Anyone hear what happened to that guy?

To Hellfish, Magnet, DH, Django and the other Czars I didn't meet, kick ass show, loved helping you guys out, sign us up for next year. Our STAFF shirts kick ass. Good to see you again Flt-Blk, got to meet Rashy, Continental John, Carmak, and Mike Zenor. Had a blast, whats the dates for next year?

Allegedly, he tried jumping on a semi-truck and was quite intoxicated. I guess the truck kept going and he fell off. The guys in the 666 sedan stopped to check it out and got harassed by the cops. They told us what I just relayed to ya.

Cob (the owner of the reverse flo small block) is a friend of mine. If you have questions, I can relay his email address to you, but I don't think he frequents the HAMB much...if at all. You're correct on the cam grind. Runs on E85 with 12.5 to 1 compression.

  7. This was at the Kalamazoo swap meet a couple of years ago, unless the memory is totally gone this wasn't a barnfind as such but an "assembled" car (jump in here Rudy if you recall the car/story).... pretty cool either way...[/QUOTE]

Wasn't there a post about that 32 a few weeks ago? Something about being a recent build, but with all the right stuff? And the owner like telling stories too?

Trailered it because it's fresh and he had to travel more than 450 miles to get it there. He's from Anoka, MN.

Thanks for posting the picture of that truck Goober.

Nice headlights on it...haha - creative.

1 more to add to the collection.

I guess this is the show of the year in some aspects...might have to take a road trip next year.

Cob has asked me to post his contact info here. Questions about the reverse flow motor can be directed to him personally.

I was with the guy that was talking to you about your father shop...atleast I think he was. Are you the son of the guy from Ionia? Well that was me. We came there with the only two women in the parking lot.....I thought you guys were always just kidding about the gay shit.....haha

I also heard about the guy on the stretcher by Wal-Mart. I heard that he was in one of the bands? Dylan and Matt (the guys in the 666 car) also told me they were harrassed by the police....and alls they did was stop to see if they could help.

Thirtyfivepickup- I was listening for the Everly Brothers all weekend at the Super 8 and never did meet you. Maybe next year.

man, I'm beat. Busted ass all weekend, then had to come home sunday and pack up my apartment because I was getting evicted for having to many fights with my slumlord. Moved on Monday, then went to the Gay Chicago Magazine's After Dark Awards where my girlfriend received an award for Outstanding Costume Designer. It was weird being there after a weekend of nothing but cars and testosterone! MY poor girlfriend was beat. She stitched up and installed my 59's interior on Thursday, busted ass all day friday helping us get set up, sold shirts for my band at Fool's, worked the tshirts almost all day at the show, totally kicked ass with all her help, and still had enough energy to help me pack!

Thanks to everyone who came to the show, especially all those that helped run it!

I crashed out for 20 hours between Sunday afternoon and Monday afternoon!!

I think the drinking 'till 5 am on Friday night, then picking up donuts @ 7 am on Saturday did me in...

Good times as always. Kudos to Hellfish for booking such rockin' bands!

yeah I noticed that. I talked to a few people I know that went to the show and didn't even see your cars - I think most people just walked straight in the gate and the mass majority missed seeing the Czar's cars. Bummer.
That '36 of yours is bad ass man. Seeing Joe's '59 cleaned up and buffed out was a trip. That car came a long way in a year.
Next year I hope to finally have a decent DSLR and a fist full of batteries and go to town taking pictures...

Anyway can't thank you guys enough for putting on a killer show.

Had a great time at the pileup. I took some guys along that aren't HAMBers and they were really impressed. We all figure that we're done with the GoodGuys stuff. Gonna start hitting more of these shows from now on. It's a lot more fun to see cars that really get driven.

I took about 150 pics. A little slow on the uptake, but here's a link to some of my pics:

It was good to meet Rashy, Ryan and Mike outside Fool's Saturday night. Hope I remembered your names right. My son and I are looking forward to next year. I've got to get my car on the road.

Chrome Czars (and everyone that helped) did a great job. Keep it up guys!

    Thanks
