I need some guidance on installing control arm cross shaft bushings. I am using a pair of Mustang II tubular control arms from Heidts. I need to replace the cross shaft bushings so I called Heidts and got both the Energy Suspensions and Moog part number. They (Heidts) said the bushings fit 65-82 Corvette.

So I get a set of Moog K8219. When I go to install them I can’t see how in the world this bushing is going into that hole. The control arm hole is 1.193. The control arm bushing is, at the very end where it goes into the arm 1.405 and at the collar 1.457. (see attached). Can somebody tell me if these look right?

    Thanks

That is not the correct bushing no way no how. Either the part was mis-boxed or they gave you a incorrect part # or app.

sometimes you just use the elastomoner bushing and not the sleeve you can press some of the sleeves off the bushing and reuse them . measure it to see if the bushing is the same od or a smidge bigger than the id of the arm . most of energy suspensions bushings come with out the metal cup you supposed to reuse them on stock style suspensions by burning ou the old bushing and cleaning the cup and pressing in the new bushing .

    YOU HIT IT STIMPY!
I had a set of Energy Suspension bushings (without the metal collars) on hand. Pressed them into the arms with no problems.

    Thanks, everyone, for the help.
