Before I get flamed I have used the search ****on with no luck! Trying to mount my oil filter canister on my edelbrock heads. 8ba motor. Is there an adapter bracket the heads originally came with?? Or am I on my own to fab an adapter up??

Every aluminum-headed flatmotor I've seen has the filter mounted on the firewall. Not sure if it's for aesthetics (to not hide the pretty heads) or necessity, but I'd be inclined to put it there too (or elsewhere off the motor). Does your head have the holes for the filter?

My Edlebrock heads have the holes in the stock locations for mounting the oil filter. Do you have a picture of your heads to show what you're referring to?

It has holes but mounting pattern is significantly smaller radius

You may have an early oil canister then. I don't know if they are different.

Some filters mount directly to headbolts (earlier), and some mount with their own bolt holes on the heads (later ones). I think you need to find the right canister.
