    ;D ;D ;D

I drove my '54 to NHRP, I love this car. It's comfy and cruises just fine. Well I loved it until I saw the cleanest '55 I have been in the company of in a loooong time. I felt movement when this car pulled up, yeah that kind. It was so clean and just right. Not overdone at all. It moved me, woke up the little kid in me from Long Beach, Lakewood actually. Yep that one, all my Uncles and their friends had cool shiny black lowered cars with chrome reverse or Cragars. Now you see the tie in I bet. I remember that, I don't remember the house, or alot of other stuff but I remember my Uncle Ernie, Mike, Rich, and their friends. But mainly their cars. I was four when we moved away from all that goodness. So I gues I shelved it until Ricky's ride woke me up.

Funny it took a '55 to put me back in the mindset, but man did it ever. I resisted the urge as long as I could. But today my Buddy Dave Lawrence mentioned a set of Cragars! Talk about divine intervention. He tells me all about 'em and says the whitewalls are on the inside but you gotta buff the black off of them? What, somebody painted the pinners? Then he says he'll drop 'em off and I can bring him the $$ whenever ;). That was about 12:00 today. I was working so it took until 4:00 to get home....

But by 7:00 PM tonight it was off to Dave's house to pay the MAN!.

Thanks Ricky, it was really *****in' thinking about all those cool old guys. I guess I am one of those "old" guys now and it feels good.

    All the best,

    Tim

PS- for those of you wondering if the Halibrands are gone. NOPE just in safe keeping while I enjoy a little of my childhood.

Damn, Tim. I never figgured you for a pinner whites guy. I hate to admit it, but, I think it looks better.
Now some raised white letters and some air shock, a big whip CB antennae and then you will be really styling!
I do still have a couple of CB's if you need one

Born and raised in East LA, a stones throw north of Whittier Blvd. I'm proud to say it looks pretty gangster..LOL.. no but really, It looks great!! I love those Cragars.

A neighbor of mine had a '68 Impala SS that they stopped using sometime in the 70's, and had been left to rot away, It had a set of Cragars and man did it look sweet.

My brother and I begged and begged to try and buy it from them, this was back in the 90's, We left the neighborhood soon after. Last I heard they had been evicted, and the Impala was sent to a wrecking yard :/

    Thanks Guys,

Conor the Pinner whites always get me. I just never thought I'd roll a pair. But I'm glad I did. - No CB's for me, I would have to own a Dodge Dart and some Highjackers. Dammit, another childhood stage unveiled :)

its funny, I have been pondering the same thing with my 51 (pulling the Real Rodders and installing a set of cragers with pinners. to change up the look from time to time) what size rims and tires are you running.

Cool, That look never goes out of style. Even more fun if you have the other set in the garage for an at***ude change depending on where you are taking the car that weekend.
