I guess I forgot to introduce myself....I'm in Mobile, Alabama and have been around cars all my life. So this is my first all original and looking for some good advice.
    Thank you in advance.

Was running fine, died while driving. Now won't even turn over. Heard knocking just before died and would do nothing more. Had to tow home. Still has original flathead 6 with 6 volt system. Don't know much about it, so am looking for help.

We are in the intro section Barney...

I would love to see a pic of the car, I sold mine and wonder what ever happened to it....

Those flatheads are cool engines. Mine, I bought a 230 jasper flathead. it looked stock, but it was a big upgrade. You probably broke a rod

welcome brother....flathead 6's are cool ,but I think yours is f#%*ed [thew a rod/seized from heat or lack of oil] . someone on this site is sure to have a replacement if yours is beyond repair.be sure to get a 23 inch block if you wanna go the ''twin carb/hi comp head HOT ROD'' route because performance bits for the longer block 6's are ''hens teeth'' {around here anyway} cheers:)
