Interesting on the top idea. I hadn't seen or heard of one. Hmmmmmm...
Yes, I am pulling out the fenders to match. Seemed easy to do at first thought, but now I'm not sure... depends on the grill. There is still work on the bumper that I know I need to do (I don't like the turn signals in the corner, and I will add to the license area) so I will do what I know, and hire an artist to come up with some sketches. My idea is a camaro blade for a center bar and mustang bumper extensions for vertical teeth... but, we'll see how it all ends up :)

Here is one of my projects. A 64 falcon hardtop. Originally equipped with a 170CI and 4 speed Dagenham transmission. Was a one owner, all original and ran great.

Switched the suspension over from 4 lug to 5 lug. using the 65 falcon V8 manual steering and quality parts. The rear end is from a 63 Falcon with a 3.55 posi.

Lots of fun while working with my little assistant!!

Here is where I am currently at with this project. Undergoing a BFX tribute build.
331 stroker/4 spd top loader/9" with 3.89 gears. Has undergone a minitub, subframes and rollbar. Gonna paint it wimbledon white and keep the interior original black.

    Enjoy!!

  9. Hey all, I have a great 1960 4 door falcon (6cyl). The rear bumper was totally shot when i got it but i have found local junkyard here that has a 62 falcon ranchero, a 64 comet and a 62 futura. I looked around the fdr thread for awhile and couldn't really find the answer, so the question is, can I use the rear bumper from any of those for my 1960 falcon? I am assuming the 62 futura and the 62 ranchero would have the same rear bumper, is that correct?

I like the gray-center Cragars. What paint is that?

Really, really cool build, that Falcon will be quite entertaining. When I read of your power plans, I was hoping you would upgrade the little 8", they are tough customers but to a point. That nodular 9'' will do nicely. Did you go with a new 56" total width housing and axles? And did you go centered housing or centered pinion?

Those are Cragar GT (not SS) wheels. Center caps say GT not SS. They are pre SS. They are old school from the 60s two piece (steel rim & aluminum center) 14x6. Originally painted black centers which appear gray now due to their age.

    I narrowed the "N" 9 inch (3.89. / 31 splines) rear end to 54.5" and centered pinion.

I know that all 3 years, (60, 61, 62), have different bumpers; BUT, if you get the arms and all, it'll probably work. Good luck! Mike.

    Hi folks,
Long-time reader, but had to register today after seeing this thread. I hope it's okay to post my Falcon here. It's not a hot rod in the traditional sense, but I have fun with it...

Great Falcon! What size wheels and tires are you running? I'm planning something similar using TCI kits. Thanks.

BTW, loved the 1:25 build of your Falcon as well!

Thanks for the kind words, you all (and for the compliment on the 1:25th as well, typerr). The wheels are all 15x8. The front tires are 195/60/R15 and the rears are 215/60/R15. They came from Diamondback.

speedfische, that is very inspiring. Answered my question on using different colored piping around the pleats on my 50 convert. I like it! Slowly making progress.

  30. Need some help please

Could someone post some photos of the gas filler on a '60 Sedan for me please?
The car I'm building for my wife came with a gas tank and a gas cap .... NOTHING in between . I've found the filler elbow from a '63 but there must be another piece that has the locking flange that the cap would engage onto ??
