Sorry fellas, ragtops don't really interest me, heck 32 roadsters dont even turn my crank like a 5 window does.

Maybe you're not as crazy as some would infer. :) Actually, I was offered this car, but declined...just don't like the '57, for $30,000. It is really, really nice...but I want a '32. Maybe I'm the crazy one! :)

Love the tri-fives but I would rather have a decent 32 5w than than the nicest 57 on the road, Maybe you would fall in love with your 5w project all over again if you got it a little farther along, but what do I know, its your car.

I can't comment on your mental state, but I can tell you I could see the appeal...I would NOT trade you my 55 for a deuce shell...but I'm just not a deuce worshipper I guess. They may be the iconic hotrod, but are worth not much more than a model A in my book, as they're not much more car than a model A.

Okay, I'm prepared for my HAMB spanking now....;)

I built a model a loved it. Then decided it would be nice to take friends and the dog along with me. If you have a family thats interested in the car hobby a tri five is way more user friendly and safe... I say keep the fam interested and do it

  11. Being bored is one of the most shitful states to be in. I guess many of us have been there at some stage or other, though my mrs reckons she never gets bored. I envy her. I think it's human nature to change things when we get bored. It makes life interesting. But sometimes boredom can be a bad thing. Change something that you think you are bored with to something that you think you might prefer is just a temporary relief to the terrible feeling of being bored. Pretty soon (maybe just like me) you will start to feel bored again.
    It happens.
Plenty of reasons why we get bored; lack of motivation due to lack of money, ability, helpful hands, inspiration, poor health, family life, work life.
Maybe set some small goals with the project. Do a couple of small things at a time. Work back into it.
You've got a car there most people would kill for (me included). It's gonna be a great project. Just don't let that feeling of boredom take control and make you do something you are gonna regret later.
    Just my 20c
Good luck with it. I hope to hear you have decided to keep it, but if not, it's your choice of course

Do you still have your T coupe? If the answer is yes and your heart is set on a '57 trade that deuce.

When you get the itch for driving an old hot rod, you have the T. When you want to cruise in comfort you'll have the '57.

But after all is said and done it really doesn't matter what the rest of us think... crazy is a relative term.... who's to say that being crazy isn't paradise?

No spanking required. '57's are traditional on this forum (yeah, right.....)
I traded my 31 with a Hemi (that was the hard part!) for a '57 4 door wagon and couldn't be happier. When friends or kids come in with grandkids, it's still a cruising weekend. go with your gut. Oh, yeah, I might have a trade for you:rolleyes: jb

The sad part is a 32-5w has always been my dream car, but I'm doubtful of my talent and wallet when it comes to finishing it like it deserves.

Sell the T, build the 32. Then buy a 57 if you still want one.

Finally I realize he is talking about a Chevy, not a 57 Ford....

Personally I'd rather look at that '32 5Window in the corner of the garage than have a running '57 Chevy in the driveway. Bob

32 will always be more desirable to me. 57s are like belly buttons, everyone has one

So many of you think I should get rid of the T, my plan was to get rid of it but I would like to keep my motor/trans since I just stuck around $15 grand in it over the winter, and I know I wouldn't be able to get enough out of the T roller. I know I know I should have spent it on the 32 but I had always wanted a blower motor too and I figured I could keep it for the 32 anyway. I knew $15,000 wasn't going to get the deuce finished anyway....life goes on.

    Just a crazy Idea.
Pull the engine and trans from the T to put in the deuce, then trade the T roller to some one for putting the deuce togather for you,
you dont haft to drop 10K on a paint job you jnow, just get it on the road for starters.
