First off I want to say a HUGE thanks to Rick Amado, Fabian, Tom Branch, Rudy, Sam, Killer, Squeak Bell and all the others I bothered relentlessly the 2 weeks prior to CHRR. With that said, I thought I'd share some stuff with y'all, as some of you know, I bought Greezy's coupe. I was really stoked to get it, then I got mad at it, it really got to me and I ended up hating the car, it sat in my garage for 6 months, I did NOTHING to it but cuss at it and try to sell/trade/swap it for just about anything. After 3 failed trades, I figured the HotRod Gods were telling me to **** it up and get the coupe going, see how I liked or disliked it, then make a decision regarding it's staying with me or not. Well, $600 and 6 days later, the damn thing is on the road, and it's a BLAST to drive, I had tons of fun fixing/rebuilding it, learned a LOT on the way, now when I do my wife's 27 I'll know what NOT to do, at any rate, here's a list of what got done: 1. Refigure front axle & steering setup, axle caster 2. Rebuilt steering box, rework column 3. Reconfigure rear spring, shocks, pinion angle 4. Piecut & reconfigure front wishbones 5. Wiring to all ends of the car 6. Rework TriPower setup so that it actually works! 7. Installed windscreen & orange lexan side/back windows 8. Built a seat out of the remains of a minivan center seat, added kick panels and carpet 9. Got the damn brakes to work 10. Made new rear shock mounts so shocks don't bind up. 11. Added some cheap gauges so I know what my motor's doing. 12. Garage alignment 13. Got a ***le for it, YES that lic plate belongs to this car! Ok, now here's some pics Thanks for everyone's help, words of encouragement, gonna start on the 27 next week Skip
Skippy, I am SOOOO glad you didn't give up on that car! It was certianly WELL worth it and I can't WAIT to see it burnin around town. **x Brandy
Har****, yeah, it needs heavy doses of flake, I've got an idea in my head, we'll see if it can transform into reality! It was good to see you Sat as well, I never, ever, in a million years thought I'd be @ his wedding, but he sure seemed happy, and that's all I care about. Nick is a funny SOB, sorry to hear about his troubles, but he sounds like he learned from it, see you guys in Ventura? Skip
Hey ya Skippy, I got a good look at your car at CHRR (*****in' machine), but never did catch up with you. Ah well.
hey, I seen that car, one of the few cars at CHRR I took a picture of that wasn't some famous historical drag car sweet little ride!
I think you should do the rest of the car in the color on the grill shell with Aztec gold scallops-damn hot and nice work!
I can tell you were really excited with the coupe's completion...your love stain is still on the seat cover!
