    Hi all,
I'm in the process of transplanting an '85 350 into my '63 Rambler wagon. I'll be running an Edelbrock 1406 carb. I noticed that the mech. fuel pump has 3 ports on it; 1 feed, 1 outlet to the carb, and a 3rd return line. The Rambler gas tank doesn't have a return port on the tank side, so i'd like to replace this particular pump with one that doesn't have a return on it. I'm thinking of purchasing this Carter Unit -->

Should this pump bolt right up to my current 350? I would think that since my motor is pre '86 that I should be ok....
    Thanks,
    ~Graham

The bolt pattern and rod length are the same on all of the SBC pumps. The difference is in the amount of fuel supplied and the discharge pressure to the carb. Your carb only needs about 3-4# of pressure.

should be fine. most of those pumps will put out 5-7 pounds, which works for your carb.

Great, thanks for the quick replies! I also have a pressure regulator after the pump to dial the pressure down further. I've read that these Edelbrocks like it low.

5 lbs. will work, but 7 lbs. will give the carb fits. Had to put a fuel regulator on my buddy's 350 with Edelbrock because it kept flooding out whenever he came to stop at idle. His mechanical pump was putting out too much pressure at around 7-8 lbs.

u might think about a phenolic gasket/heat insulator for that carb too, they seem to be prone to boiling fuel. you can do a search, there is a ton of info.
