I posted a thread on the main forum asking if it would be ok to start a build thread on a 49 Chevy truck I was going to put on an S10 frame. The 49 is on a 1 ton frame and I wanted somthing more styled like a lowered 1/2 ton and thought this would be a very economical route given I have an S10 frame essentially free.

Anyways I got a PM that the thread was deleted. There was a field for "Reason" in the PM but it was left blank and I was unable to respond to the PM. I was just curiouse as to why it was deleted. Was it because it was directed as more a question and should have been posted in the Question & Suggestion forums? Or did I break another rule?

The thread was getting good responses up till it was deleted. Just trying to understand why, thats all.

    Thanks - HUSSEY

    Try asking the Moderators directly.

I tried responding to the PM but it said it didn't accept responses. I can't say I know who all the moderators are so I thought this would be an appropriate place since it's questions to the Editors.

Click the HAMB logo/shield at the top, when the page comes up, at the bottom it says (view forum leaders) just above the pictures, click it and all the Mods will come up with contact info.

The dreaded S-10 is probably the reason.

    Yes.

This is the right place to ask this question.

And to answer your question, your Thread was Deleted because it was about a S10 frame swap.

you were also running a poll on whether everybody thought it was ok. the only opinion that matters is ryan and the moderators.
check out the social groups. they aren't moderated. if you find one about frame swaps, ask them if they'de like to see your truck.

    -----------------
    Which seem entirely arbitrary,
    because there are numerous threads
here involving early bodies on later
model frames. A couple of current
    and popular, long running 'build
    threads ' - one involving a '47
    Cadillac

and another. involving a' 51 Kaiser

    - both being built using '90's-something
    Caprice ch***is and running gear.
come to mind. How about all those
'build threads' on '50's F-!00 Ford
trucks using Volare front clips, too??

Don't sweat it,,I have had a lot of post deleted.

Sometimes it's the subject matter and the moderators will delete it,,some times it turns into drama and other times several people report it as not being traditional. HRP
