I apologize if this has been talked about previously, but I did do a search and came up empty handed. I am currently putting together a vintage Halibrand V8 quickchange with 35-36 rear axle housings.
Does anyone have a list of Timken Bearing numbers for the rebuild??

    Thanks Hambers!

I don't have those numbers but I just take and Bearing I need replaced down to my Local Bearing Supply. If you wish Timken only they usually will 1. Identify it. 2. Place a prepaid order + shipping for it and 3. Help you to find an "Or equal" if you so desire.

There are a couple of variations. How old do you think the rear is? I can supply you with a list but need to know the diameter of the pinion shank and the approximate od of the rear cover bearings. The 35-36 trumpets require different bearings than the 40s style.

There is also a possibility that the pinion could use a double tapered roller.

Does the case have a big V8 cast in the side?

You cannot use the 35-36 ring and pinion in the QC. Hot Rod works has the bearings you seek. Regards, Ron

Thanks Ron, What makes the 36 ring and pinion not useable? I looked at new ring & pinions and they are the same part number for 35-48

35-36 are 10 spline, you need 6 spline to fit the change gears.

Dick Spadaro has the seals and they are rather inexpensive. Ron

So I removed the Pinion from My Halibrand V8 Quickchange and this is what I found for bearings.
    (2) SKF 6307 with a spacer inbetween. Isn't the pinion bearing supposed to be a double race??? I need the correct bearing and race #'s for my Pinion. Are they the same for a stock bajo center section pinion? thanks
