I am looking for a thread from tech week, where a piece of sheet metal was placed between 2 pieces of wood. There was a shape cut out of one piece of wood, then tapped down with another to put a shape in the metal without a press.
I like that post, and it will help me. I am also looking for one where it was used to put a shape in the middle of the panel. I am going to try to pound Dodge in a piece of metal. I believe I read in in this years tech week.
Is this the drip rail thread you were looking for? http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=788291&highlight=drip+rail
It wasnt a thread I was thinking of but a post http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8670429&postcount=7 The rest of the thread is good too
These are great threads, but not the one I am looking for. I saw it in tech week this year. I thought that there was a shape cut into wood, then clamped into another piece. With a wooden dowel or something he pounded the shape into the metal without distorting it. Is there a way to look at this years threads.
F&J that is the thread I was looking for. Thanks for all of the input. This should work for putting Dodge in a tailgate. I will practice on something else first.
