Recently went to Goodguys and checked a lot of the 55-57 chevy pickups to see what they use for an armrest. Most of them had none, only the handles and the upper stock trim panel mounted on the door. I want to use full door trims on the interior. If anyone has any good suggestions and/or pics to share I would like to see your trim panel arrangment..thanks

Companies like cl***ic parts of America re-pop them in different colors. They screw on to the door access panel.

They have threaded nuts in the door. You have to find the nuts and drill the door pad/metal cover.

To be honest man I wanted them for mine too when I was building it and never could find a good set anywhere, over ten years later I don't think I would have been very happy with them its nice to be able to lean out the window with my arm and not have it digging at me. Just an opinion that's all man.

I just bought these for my truck in black on black because I couldn't figure out what color to get. I can change the vinyl later I suppose.

I think it was Rudy (Rude Dude) that posted the ingenious method of how to accurately locate where to drill through the door panels that go into the door frame nuts without a lot of measuring:

Get two spare bolts, cut off the heads and grind where the heads were into points. Screw them into the door, place the door panel on top where it goes, and tap the panel with a mallet to transfer center punches onto the door panel. That's where you drill! Pretty smart, huh? lol.

  6. Depending on the spacing of the holes, I wouldn't be surprised if a whole batch of GM armrests could be fitted up there. You might need like, back door ones from a sedan or something to fit - but stuff like that is usually cheap.
