Here's another one. This car reportedly still exists, but nobody has seen it in 60 years.

JEAN TREVOUX' MEXICAN ROAD RACE PACKARD -- This thing was built for Trevoux as a pure race car. It was about a 7/8 scale aluminum copy of a sectioned '53 Packard Clipper 2-door. Its Packard straight 8 engine was built by Howard Johansen and featured 4 carbs a**** other racy goodies:

How bout the Cushenberry Silhouette? Stolen from his shop and supposedly buried in an auto junkyard somewhere in the Vally. So... how many junkyards do you guys think there are in the Vally!?!? I'd love to go digging!!!!!

I know this sounds crazy but ive always wanted to go and try to recover this car, this has to be my favorite concept car, and to be honest, it has the most interesting loss story!:D

Larry Cerny had it at Paso several years ago in it's as found unrestored condition. Don't know if it ever got redone.

  8. I've got a few cars to add..........

The first is McPhail's Chevy the way it was around 2000. I remember seeing it at the 2000 Leadsled Spectacular in Wichita. The beautiful purple suede and the light purple Metalflake top knocked my socks off. Oh yeah, can't forget the six tailpipes. I remember watching him as he left the host hotel on Friday evening. The Chevy was climbing the on-ramp to get on the highway and those pipes were singing! That is a sound I will never forget. The car is still around but looks way different. Too bad..........

The second is Elden ***us' '56 Plymouth. Never got to see it in person, but I recall seeing it when it hit the magazines in the 80's. The car was simply pure genius. The mild kustom style and the gorgeous paint still warm my heart. I'm surprised that it has never been cloned. Elden built some neat stuff that never seemed to get as popular as deserved. He was a very skilled, yet highly under-rated builder. He is missed.
As for the car, I've never heard what ever happened to it.........E

    Hey,

Given that the Norseman was made from 50's Italian aluminum and steel, it was probably already starting to rot before it left Ghia in Italy:D The wooden packing crate it was shipped in, and placed in the number two cargo hold of the ill fated Andrea Doria, would offer zero protection from the salt water of the North Atlantic over the last fifty seven years:(
Had the Norseman survived the trip across the Atlantic, it would have to have been destroyed after its' showcar duties were completed to satisfy federal law for crash standards of the day.
Even Exner & Chrysler Corp. weren't interested in building a Norseman II after the insurance company payed off on the loss.

oh, how I remember painting that purple chevy, I still have the formula for that amazing glow purple, many have treid to copy , but no-one has pulled it off. I've even told a couple excactly how to do it , still no luck.......maybe I do know how to paint, contrary to the belief of some "dudes " from the coast state.
